DMA Engineering
DMA Engineering is a Colorado based engineering firm specializing in design and design build of renewable energies for the Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing systems of residential and commercial buildings. Our designs use geothermal, solar photo voltaic (Solar PV), and solar thermal. DMA Engineering projects include partnering with architects, commercial builders, other design firms, and residents.
We are members of ASHRAE, AIA, Boulder Green Building Guild, and the Geoexchange Consortium.
Steven Forrester, P.E.
Mr. Forrester started DMA Engineering in the fall of 2007 because he felt he could make a difference in the world we live in by using his engineering talents to design high quality renewable energies for residential and commercial buildings.
Mr. Forrester is a Colorado native and grew up in the Washington Park neighborhood. While obtaining his undergraduate Mechanical Engineering degree at the University of Colorado at Denver, he worked as a carpenter. This early construction experience has given Mr. Forrester the hands on experience in how a building is constructed. After graduating, he worked in industry for several years. He has worked for an Air Force subcontractor that was responsible for the sustainability of radio frequency antennas. After several years he moved on to a local commercial kitchen manufacture designing and building refrigerators. While working he returned to the University to receive a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and his Professional Engineer's license. He then moved on to designing transportation equipment while concurrently starting DMA Engineering.
Most recently he has been the principal engineer on several projects using geothermal and solar technologies.
Paul Lind BSME, P.E., C.E.M., Senior Mechanical Engineer
Mr. Lind has been directly involved with HVAC and temperature control systems for 40 years. He has specialized in system retrofit and energy use analysis.
Mr. Lind graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. This was followed by eight Energy Management courses at the University of Wisconsin Extension. He is a Professional Engineer in Illinois. He is a Certified Energy Manager (C.E.M.) by examination with the Association of Energy Engineers.
Mr. Lind’s work history includes Trane Company (sales engineer), Hyatt Hotels Corporate Office (Director of Engineering) and Johnson Controls, Inc. (Senior Energy Engineer). He has experience with system design, creation of energy use data bases (for 66 hotels), system commissioning, on-site energy audits and computer simulation of annual energy use.
Mr. Lind served as Chairman of the ASHARE Energy Management Committee for Illinois and has construction experience as a Pipefitter.
